    Street Fighter (tbd; Sakurai)

    The new live-action Street Fighter movie is up and running. After Talk to Me directors Danny and Michael Philippou dropped out of the movie, Bad Trip’s Kitao Sakurai is the new director. The Sony Pictures movie has a couple of actors in mind to play Ryu and Ken.

    Unlike the previous live-action Street Fighter movies, the upcoming flick will feature Ryu and Ken. As for who will take on the iconic roles, Nexus Point News has mentioned its first cast members.

    Andrew Koji, known for Warrior and Snake Eyes, is in talks to play Ryu. The title character is a dedicated Ansatsuken karate fighter traveling the world for worthy opponents. The Recruit’s Noah Centineo is in talks to play Ken, Ryu’s best friend and rival. His confident personality to be the best comes with his fast-paced, aggressive fighting style.

    Gerüchte, Gerüchte: Walton Goggins als M.Bison (oder besser Vega, wie er in Japan heisst) im Gespärch.

    Hab auch nie verstanden, warum die Namen von M.Bison, Vega und Balrog in Europa vertauscht wurden. Nur Sagat blieb Sagat.

      In Japan sind die Persönlichkeitsrechte etwas anders und man hatte die Befürchtung, dass man auf dem US-Markt Probleme mit lebenden Persönlichkeiten wie Mike Tyson bekommt, der Capcom hätte verklagen können. Darum hat man einige Charaktere hinterher umbenannt, denn das Spiel kam erst international groß heraus, nachdem es in Japan bereits ein Hit war und nur auf gut Glück einen internationalen Release anstrebte.

    Der alte Film war schon so trashig, dass er gleich wieder Kult ist. Nicht nur wegen dem Vermächtnis von Raul Julia. Bin echt neugierig, wie sie dieses Mal einen Film draus machen wollen.
